NoMotion is an app that dramatically reduces the symptoms of motion sickness associated with traveling by boat, plane or car. About one third of people are susceptible to motion sickness, even in mild circumstances such as being on a boat in calm water or flying in an airplane. Medication is expensive and has side-effects such as drowsiness. By using 3 types of bio-feedback (audio and visual) NoMotion has proven to be just as effective as over the counter medicine. I believe this app is going to make history once launched, and we need your help to get us there.

How it works:
The cause of motion sickness:
Normally,when you move around, changes in your inner ear (vestibular system) match up with what you’re seeing. However, when you are traveling (in an airplane, boat or car) your inner ear signals that you’re moving, but your eyes say that you’re sitting still. These conflicting signals to the brain cause motion sickness.

How NoMotion corrects this problem:
NoMotion uses three different forms of bio-feedback to correct the signal conflicts caused by traveling. A virtual horizon simulates an environment that matches the signals from your inner ear to those of your eyes. A secondary bio-feedback audio pitch modulation (BFAPM) signal locks on and affirms this visual signal. After some training (an average of 40 mins) users may choose to rely solely on the audio signal to correct the inner ear signals. A third bio-feedback audio stereo modulation (BFASM) signal adds a further benefit when the app is used whilst wearing headphones.
